The Gerrish Township Police Department is investigating a serious two vehicle head on traffic crash that occurred on Co Rd 100 just North of Co Rd 103 in Gerrish Township on 1-22-13 at approximately 8:20am. The crash involves a Red Chevy pickup truck driven by 73 year old man from Roscommon who was traveling NB on Co Rd 100 when he lost control on the slippery roads and he collided with a White Ford Explorer driven by a 61 year old Roscommon woman who was heading SB on Co Rd 100. Both subjects were transported to Grayling Mercy Hospital by ambulance and subsequently transferred to Munson Medical Center in Traverse City. Their specific medical condition is not known at this time. The accident investigation is on going at this time.
Gerrish Township Police were assisted by the Roscommon County Sheriff Dept, Michigan State Police, Gerrish Township Fire/EMS and Markey Township Fire/EMS.
Use caution on the roads. Conditions are deceiving with the cold temperatures causing black ice.

According to Gerrish Township Police Chief Brian Hill:
The 73 year old male driver of the red colored Chevrolet Pickup truck is a James Mccully of Roscommon. He remains in critical but stable condition at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City Michigan this morning.
The 61 year old female driver of the white Ford Explorer is a Pamela Reicks also of Roscommon. She remains in stable condition at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City Michigan this morning.
The Gerrish Township Police Department continues to investigate.
